The Importance of Family in McCullers' The Member of the Wedding I needn't bother with my mom or my dad any longer. I am a youngster, who needs them? I can live all alone. Carson McCullers composed a novel, The Member of the Wedding (1946), which put a twelve-year-old young lady, Frankie, in the circumstance of leaving her family and old neighborhood. After a year ago, her closest companion moved away and she was disregarded. She used to be exceptionally famous and hung out in the entirety of the clubhouses around town.
